Los Angeles Dodgers' Amed Rosario Making Historic Impact Since Team Traded For Him

Since being acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers, shortstop Amed Rosario has had an impact rarely seen in franchise history.

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres on Friday by a score of 10-5.

The win moved Los Angeles to 63-45 while the loss dropped San Diego to 54-56.

The Dodgers got a home run from James Outman in the win and they also got a two-RBI performance from shortstop Amed Rosario, who continues to make an impact after being acquired in a deal from the Cleveland Guardians.

In fact, Rosario has made such an impact that he's put himself in a rare class in team history.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

Amed Rosario has 7 RBI in his 1st 6 games with the Dodgers

only 11 players have had MORE in their 1st 6 games with the Dodgers since RBI official in 1920:

1974 Jim Wynn: 12

2015 Justin Ruggiano: 10

2013 Yasiel Puig: 10

2008 Manny Ramirez: 9

1988 Alfredo Griffin: 9

1942 Cliff Dapper: 9

2005 Keff Kent: 8

1996 Tim Wallach: 8

1969 Andy Kosco: 8

1939 Jimmy Ripple: 8

The 27-year-old Rosario is hitting .268 this season with four home runs and 47 RBI. He's posted a .309 on-base percentage as well over 100 games.

He's in his seventh major league season with the Mets, Guardians and Dodgers and is a lifetime .274 hitter.

He'll be a free agent at the end of the season.

The Dodgers are in first place in the National League West, 3.0 games ahead of the San Francisco Giants.

The Padres are now 4.0 games back of the third and final NL wild card spot.
