Atlanta Braves Starting Pitcher Kyle Wright Not Expected to Be Ready Until Late in Season

In this story:
The Atlanta Braves lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, 5-3.
The loss dropped the Braves to 61-33 on the season and brought their National League East lead down to 9.5 games. It's still the biggest lead of any division in the sport.
In addition to the loss, the Braves also got some tough news regarding injured starting pitcher Kyle Wright.
The following updates comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:
Wright (shoulder) is not expected to be an option for Atlanta until early September, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sometime in August had been viewed as a rough timetable for the right-hander, but it's going to be a bit longer than that. Wright hasn't had a setback, but the club just wants to be extra cautious as he works his way back from a right shoulder strain. Wright is expected to begin throwing shortened bullpen sessions early next week and then regular bullpen sessions by the end of next week.
Wright has barely pitched this season because of two stints on the injured list. He is 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA.
He had an unbelievable year in 2022, acting as the only 20-game winner in the National League. He went 21-5 to lead the league in wins and posted a 3.19 ERA in just over 180 innings. He finished 10th in the National League Cy Young voting and helped the Braves win the National League East.
The Braves will finish out the series with the Diamondbacks on Thursday afternoon at 12:20 p.m. ET.
