The Boston Red Sox, coming off a sweep at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals, are entering their next series at less than 100 percent.

As the Sox welcome in the Seattle Mariners to Fenway Park on Monday, the team is expected to be without starting shortstop Kiké Hernandez for a few days after he tweaked his hamstring this past Saturday.

Red Sox Insider Jen McCaffrey of 'The Athletic' has the latest.

Kiké Hernandez says he’s day to day with a left hamstring strain. Said he tweaked it trying to beat out a double play on Saturday. Said he was trying to be like Duran with speed and it was a bad idea but should be ok in a couple days.

Hernandez is playing shortstop most of the time this season, having moved there in the wake of Xander Bogaerts leaving in free agency. He has also played some CF again because of Adam Duvall's injury, but with Jarren Duran becoming a lineup regular, Hernandez has been able to move back to SS on a regular basis.

He's struggled overall at the plate and in the field this season. He's hitting just .234 this season with three home runs, and defensively he has nine errors.

He is in his 10th year in the big leagues, having spent six with the Dodgers, three with the Red Sox and part one each with the Astros and Marlins.

Pablo Reyes is playing shortstop on Monday.

The Red Sox and Mariners will throw the first pitch Monday at 7:10 p.m. ET.
