Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale landed on the injured list last week with "left shoulder inflammation."

After the injury report came out, Sale spoke to the media and said that he's hoping to know more by this week. You can read and see his full comments from last week here.

On Tuesday, his manager Alex Cora joined MLB Network on SiriusXM and discussed the timeline for his lefty. You can see the full comments below, but we've provided a partial transcript as well.

"Right now we are in the early stages of the injury, we're trying to gather more information. I think the end of the week, we're going to have a better idea of what the time frame is going to be. It's tough, not only for the Red Sox, but for Chris..."

Sale has unfortunately dealt with injures fairly regularly since 2019. He missed the end of that season with problems, then got Tommy John surgery and missed all of 2020 -- and most of 2021.

In 2022 he missed the beginning of the season with an illness, then came back and took a line drive off the hand. He then broke his wrist on a bicycle.

For the season, he's 5-2 with a 4.58 ERA. He's struck out 71 batters in 59 innings and had really gotten in a groove recently.

For his career, he's a seven-time All-Star selection who helped the Red Sox win the 2018 World Series.

The Red Sox visit the Cleveland Guardians on Monday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
