The Chicago White Sox saw slugger Eloy Jimenez leave the game early on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves with injury.

Unfortunately, injuries are a trend with Jimenez. Since debuting in 2019, he's had only one full season over 100 games (2019 - 122). He did play 55 of a possible 60 in the COVID 2020 season but played only 55 in 2021, 84 in 2022 and he's missed time this year as well, playing in just 61 games thus far.

Sunday's issue is a groin issue, per reports. The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Jimenez was removed from Sunday's game against Atlanta with left groin tightness.

ANALYSIS
Manager Pedro Grifol rolled the dice with Jimenez in right field Sunday and it didn't take long for that decision to backfire. The oft-injured slugger will be evaluated further ahead of the team's upcoming series in Queens. Jake Burger could take over as the primary DH if this forces Jimenez to the injured list, with Yoan Moncada (back) inching closer to a return.

He's played just 13 games in the outfield this season in addition to 48 at designated hitter.

It's just another gut punch for the White Sox, who have been among the most underwhelming teams in baseball this season. Entering play on Sunday, Chicago is 39-55 and in fourth place in the American League Central.

At the time of this posting, they lead the Atlanta Braves, 6-1, and are looking to take a series from the best team in baseball.
