Los Angeles Dodgers Provide Update on Pitcher Dustin May

In this story:
Yes, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday by a score of 7-3 to move to 28-16 on the season, but it wasn't all good news.
Starting pitcher Dustin May left the game after just one inning with right elbow pain and will require a trip to the injured list.
Dodgers Insider Fabian Ardaya tweeted:
Dustin May has a flexor pronator strain, Dave Roberts. No timetable but it’ll be an IL stint. Not known if the UCL was impacted.

Whether or not the UCL is impacted is certainly a huge part of the puzzle, as the UCL is responsible for Tommy John surgeries. May recently had Tommy John surgery, missing nearly all of the 2021 season and most of 2022 as well.
He's off to a fantastic start for the Dodgers this season. He's currently 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA in nine games. He's also posted a 0.94 WHIP.
For his career, the right-hander is 12-9 with a 3.10 ERA. He's thrown 191.2 career innings at the big league level.
The Dodgers bullpen did an excellent job covering for May on Wednesday, as Dylan Covey threw four innings of relief. Victor Gonzalez tossed 0.2, Caleb Ferguson threw 0.2, Brusdar Graterol threw 1.1 to earn the win and Evan Phillips tossed one.
The Dodgers also got some history in the game courtesy of outfielder James Outman, who belted a grand slam in the seventh inning.
The Dodgers begin a new series on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. First pitch of game one is 7:40 p.m. ET.
