Miami Marlins Stud Gets Average Report in Recovery From Injury

The Miami Marlins have been without Jazz Chisholm for nearly three weeks and the injury report that came out on Friday is very average.

The Miami Marlins recently held the top spot in the National League Wild Card battle, but after losing eight of their last 10, the Fish are now percentage points out of the third and final wild card spot.

They certainly could use star Jazz Chisholm back in the lineup, but after the injury report that came out on Friday, he still appears to be a bit away from returning.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Chisholm (oblique) is doing plyometric work but has not started hitting as of Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

ANALYSIS
The left oblique strain is preventing him from progressing to swinging a bat, but he is able to do plyometrics, or jump training. In the meantime, Dane Myers has been the everyday center fielder for Miami.

He's been on the injured list for nearly three weeks after getting injured against the Boston Red Sox.

He's hitting .246 this year with nine homers, 21 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 167 at-bats and his presence looms large in the lineup as the Marlins push for that first playoff spot since 2020.

Lifetime, he's a .243 hitter with 43 homers and 125 RBI. A speedster, he's stolen 51 career bases since debuting in 2020. He was named an All-Star in 2022.

The Marlins are taking on the Rockies on Friday night at loanDepot Park. Braxton Garrett is pitching for Miami while Peter Lambert is the counter for Bud Black's Rockies.

The series will wrap up on Sunday.
