Minnesota Twins Likely to Bring Back Injured Rotation Member This Weekend

In this story:
The Minnesota Twins are likely to get stronger this weekend as they chase another American League Central crown.
While not official, Minnesota seems likely to activate injured pitcher Joe Ryan from the injured list in time to pitch on Saturday.
The report came from Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.
The Twins have announced that Bailey Ober will start on Sunday. They still have Saturday listed as TBA. Would expect that would be Joe Ryan.

Ryan struck out seven in his rehab start last Friday and his return will be a welcome one for the Twins.
The 27-year-old is 9-8 this season with a 4.43 ERA. He's struck out 152 batters in 126.0 innings. He was having an excellent year, but he's allowed 23 runs in his last five starts, and has only gone six innings one time in that span. Hopefully the recovery time helps him back to the best version of himself.
For his career, he's 24-17 with a 3.96 ERA. He's started 54 career games and made his major league debut in 2021.
When he comes back, the Twins are likely to bump former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel from the rotation, and perhaps from the roster entirely. He had been filling in in the absence of Ryan.
The Twins are currently 65-61 and lead the American League Central by 5.0 games over the Cleveland Guardians.
They are leading the Milwaukee Brewers 5-3 in the sixth inning at the time of this posting. They'll start a series with the Texas Rangers on Thursday.
