The Minnesota Twins, in first place in the American League Central, are set to get a little extra help this weekend as infielder Jorge Polanco is set to be activated from the injured list.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Polanco (hamstring) is slated to be activated from the 10-day injured list in time for the Twins' series in Kansas City this weekend, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

ANALYSIS
He will play a seventh and final rehab game with Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday before rejoining the big club Friday. Polanco is making his third start at third base for St. Paul on Wednesday and looks to be in line to see most of his action against right-handers with the Twins at the hot corner, with Edouard Julien remaining at second base.

The position change was necessitated as a way to get Julien's bat in the lineup. The rookie is hitting .305 with nine homers and 17 RBI.

As for Polanco, the 30-year-old veteran is hitting .250 with five homers and 16 RBI through 120 at-bats.

He's in his 10th year in the big leagues - all with the Twins. He's a .270 hitter lifetime and made the All-Star team back in 2019.

The Twins will take on the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon with first pitch slated for 1:10 p.m. ET.

Rookie Bryce Miller goes for Seattle while ace Joe Ryan is the counter for Minnesota.

The Twins are 54-49 while the Mariners enter play at 51-50.
