New Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins says he's fully recovered from a Torn ACL suffered last spring training and he'll enter spring training this year with no restrictions.

Per Brewers' reporter Curtis Hogg:

We're Zooming with Rhys Hoskins now. Says his knee will be full-go in spring. "I'm pretty bored as a competitor," he said.

The Brewers recently signed Hoskins to a two-year deal. The soon-to-be 31-year old slugger had spent seven years in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He missed all of 2023 with that knee injury and wasn't able to come back to help the Phillies in the playoffs. There had been talk of him coming back for the World Series, but Philly was beaten by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS.

Hoskins is a lifetime .242 hitter who will add instant power to the Milwaukee lineup. He he has hit at least 27 homers in every full season since 2018. He also hit 10 home runs in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He's also got a .353 career on-base percentage and will help lengthen a Brewers lineup that lost Carlos Santana in free agency.

Furthermore, Hoskins can help serve as a veteran mentor to young Brewers players like Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick, who both figure to be part of the Opening Day roster.

The Brewers won the National League Central last season but have had a weird offseason in which they had their manager Craig Counsell leave for the Chicago Cubs, and saw longtime rotation stalwart Brandon Woodruff get non-tendered after a serious shoulder injury.
