Seattle Mariners' Skipper Gives Timeline For When Information Will Come on Injury to Matt Brash
Seattle Mariners fans are bracing for the worst when it comes to injury news on right-handed reliever Matt Brash, who was shut down last week after feeling a little "banged up."
Reports have indicated that Brash could be headed for a season-ending arm injury and according to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times, the M's could know more tomorrow.
Servais said he hopes to have an update on Matt Brash tomorrow.
The M's have built one of the best bullpens in all of baseball with Andres Munoz, Brash and Gregory Santos and if Brash is forced to miss significant time, that's a huge dent in what the team hopes to accomplish this season.
Furthermore, the Mariners have had a long-standing issue scoring runs and have relied on their pitching. Brash being hurt also knocks them down a peg on that front.
The 25-year-old Brash is one of the nastiest pitchers in all of baseball, complete with a triple-digit fastball and a wicked slider. He went 9-4 last season for Seattle with a 3.06 ERA and led baseball in appearances with 78. He made his major league debut in 2022 and made five starts before heading to Triple-A and resurfacing as a dynamite reliever.
The only saving grace about this situation for Seattle is that its early enough in the season to make adjustments. The team has multiple intriguing arms in camp and also could take a look at free agent reliever Ryne Stanek, who is still unsigned and would make a good fit.
