Arizona Diamondbacks Top Prospect Gets Back to Action, Activated From Lengthy Injury List Stay
Earlier this week, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced that they were promoting top prospect Jordan Lawlar from Double-A to Triple-A.
The good news continued down on the farm as the D'Backs also announced that No. 2 overall prospect Druw Jones has been activated from a lengthy stay on the minor league injured list.

Jones (hamstring) was activated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday at Single-A Visalia, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones originally landed on the minor-league injured list way back in April because of a right quad strain and then strained his right hamstring in late July as he embarked on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League. Selected by the Diamondbacks with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, the 19-year-old outfielder has appeared in only 22 professional games to date. He'll look to finish strong over what remains of Visalia's schedule before perhaps making up for lost development time with a different affiliate.

When healthy, Jones has the potential to be one of the toolsiest players in the Minors. He showed plenty of bat speed from the right side before the shoulder injury, though it's becoming clear the bat will need longer to develop than the other aspects of his game. He had little issue putting the ball in the gaps in high-school showcases, and given his current size, he projects for potential plus power at his peak once he reins in his early whiff issues.
