Chicago White Sox infielder Tim Anderson was given the longest suspension by Major League Baseball in lieu of Saturday night's brawl with the Cleveland Guardians.

Anderson received a six-game suspension while Guardians star Jose Ramirez received three games.

Suspensions for the Guardians-White Sox brawl:

Tim Anderson: 6 games

Jose Ramirez: 3 games

Emmanuel Clase: 1 game

Terry Francona: 1 game

Pedro Grifol: 1 game

Mike Sarbaugh: 1 game

Ramirez hit a ball to right field and stretched a single into a double. He slid into second base safely, where Anderson stood over him briefly. Ramirez got up and pointed at Anderson, who then dropped his glove, squared up, and threw punches. Ramirez connected with Anderson and knocked him down.

You can see the melee here.

The incident and the suspension just add to a dreadful season overall for Anderson.

The former All-Star is hitting just .244 this year with a .285 on-base percentage. He only has one home run and 19 RBI this year. He's only played in 87 games this season for the White Sox as he's also battled injury.

The incident is another in a string of embarrassments for the White Sox. Just Monday, it was reported about a poor clubhouse culture and lack of overall accountability within the clubhouse.

The White Sox are currently 45-68 and in fourth place in the American League Central. The 45 wins are the fourth-fewest in all of baseball ahead of the A's, Royals and Colorado Rockies.

The White Sox host the New York Yankees on Monday.
