Former Washington Nationals' World Series Hero Unsure on Playing Future

In this story:
After battling injuries for nearly all of 2023, current Los Angeles Dodgers' and former Washington Nationals' reliever Daniel Hudson isn't sure what he'll do next.
Hudson suffered a torn ACL in the summer of 2022, then came back this past year to make three appearances before suffering an MCL sprain, which cost him the rest of his season.

The 36-year-old Hudson has a $6.5 million club option for 2024, which seems sure to be declined. If so, that would make Hudson a free agent and he'd have the option of signing somewhere else or retiring, which it sounds like is a possibility.
Hudson has pitched in parts of 14 Major League seasons with the White Sox, Diamondbacks, Pirates, Blue Jays, Padres, Dodgers and Nationals. He made his debut with the White Sox in 2009 and was an integral part of the Nationals' World Series run in 2019, serving as their closer once being acquired.
Lifetime, he's a 59-43 pitcher with a 3.79 ERA. He's served as a starter for some portions of his career, even winning 16 games with the 2011 Diamondbacks.
He's made 10 career postseason appearances as well, pitching to a 1-1 record a 5.40 ERA.
Given his previous track record, it seems like Hudson will have suitors on the open market should he get there. At that rate, it will just come down to whether or not he wants to play in 2024.
Figuring out what to do with Hudson's option is just one of many decisions for the Dodgers, who were just eliminated in the NLDS by the Diamondbacks.
