Last month, the first preseason poll for the 2023 Division I baseball season was released.

The LSU Tigers topped the rankings, coming off a 40-22 season in 2022. LSU has the projected no. 1 overall pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft, Dylan Crews, in their outfield.

Seven SEC schools landed in the top 10, including Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida, Arkansas and Vanderbilt. Stanford, Wake Forest and Oklahoma State round out the top 10, with each representing their respective conference.

One interesting note about the current rankings is that TCU is currently ranked top-15 by the Associated Press in baseball (no. 15), men's basketball (no. 15) and football (no. 2). The Horned Frogs football team reached the National Championship Game, falling to Georgia in a blowout earlier this month.
