On Saturday after the New York Mets lost to the Toronto Blue Jays, Mets star Francisco Lindor commented on hearing some boos from the Citi Field Faithful.

You can see his answer below or you can read the transcript here.

"I don't want to block them out. They're expressing their frustration and I hear them. I'm right there with them. Just got to get better."

It's certainly been a frustrating season for Lindor in New York. His batting average is down to .212, which is well below his career average of .274.

He's got 10 home runs this season and 40 RBI, which still signals good power production, but the overall body of work isn't what Lindor is used to. A four-time All-Star selection and two-time Gold Glove winner, Lindor has received MVP votes in five different seasons.

He was acquired from the Cleveland Guardians in a trade before the 2021 season. He helped the Guardians reach the World Series in 2016 and has put up quite the resume in his career.

He led baseball in plate appearances in three different seasons, showing remarkable durability. He also led the league in runs scored in 2018.

The Blue Jays beat the Mets, 2-1, on Saturday on a go-ahead double in the ninth inning from Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The two teams will play again on Sunday at 1:40 as Yusei Kikuchi pitches for Toronto and Kodai Senga pitches for New York.

The Jays enter the game at 32-27 overall while the Mets come in at 30-29.
