Over the last month, we have followed the Oakland Athletics possible relocation saga diligently.

First, there was the report that the A's were looking for a ballpark in Las Vegas, seemingly making relocation more likely.

Then, the team confirmed it.

Then, we heard that the team had reached an agreement on a ballpark site.

And now, the team reportedly has a "binding" agreement in place for that ballpark in Las Vegas.

Front Office Sports put this on Twitter on Monday morning:

NEWS: The Oakland A's have reached a binding deal with Bally's to build a new, $1.5B ballpark at the site of the Tropicana on the Las Vegas Strip. The A's Vegas stadium will have 30,000 seats and a partially-retractable roof. The deal is subject to relocation approval by MLB.

Look, that all sounds amazing, right? A cool, new ballpark in a new place that's full of energy. The NHL has succeeded in Las Vegas, and so has the NFL, so there is definite excitement in the market.

That said, I am not a fan of relocation. I'm just not. The Oakland Athletics have been in Oakland for more than 50 years and have a history there. I can't help but feel for the fans of the organization if they have their team taken away.

The last note in that tweet seems inconsequential. Major League Baseball will definitely approve relocation. I'm sure the owners will too.

The biggest issue will be if the Las Vegas legislature can get moving on this in time before the session runs out, something that Buster Olney of ESPN mentioned last week.
