WATCH: Mike Trout Spotted at Philadelphia Eagles NFC Championship Game

Los Angeles Angels center fielder and three-time American League MVP Mike Trout was spotted in attendance at Sunday's NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.

Los Angeles Angels center fielder and three-time American League MVP Mike Trout was spotted in attendance at Sunday's NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles would go on to defeat the 49ers 31-7 in front of their home fans, Trout being one of them.

Trout was spotted in the stands of Sunday's game.

Trout, a native of Millville, New Jersey, is a lifelong Eagles fan. He attended Millville Senior High School, graduating in 2009. He was selected with the 25th overall pick in the 2009 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.

Some thought that Trout could come back to the East Coast and sign a contract to play with his hometown Phillies, before he ended up signing a 12-year, $426 million extension to remain with the Angels, in 2019.

Trout will be the captain of Team USA in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The World Baseball Classic begins Mar. 8. Legs of the tournament will be played in Phoenix, Arizona, Miami, Florida, Tokyo Japan and Taichung, Taiwan.

The Eagles will play in the Super Bowl next month, just three months after the Phillies played in the World Series. It is the first time since 1980 that both teams have appeared in a championship in the same year. The only other time it happened was 1980, when all four of the city's major sports teams — the Flyers and the 76ers included — played for a championship in the same year.
