Boxing News: Mike Tyson Shares "Day 1" Training Clip for Jake Paul Fight

"Iron Mike" is getting ready for his return to the boxing ring.

Former heavyweight boxing champion and combat sports legend Mike Tyson is already in the gym preparing for his fight with Jake Paul.

The general response to Paul’s most recent boxing bout against Ryan Bourland has been lukewarm at best, but not long after that knockout-win the combat sports world was stunned by the news that “Problem Child” will face Tyson in the boxing ring on July 20.

The exhibition matchup will take place at AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys) in Arlington, TX, and Tyson has already posted footage of himself preparing for the fight just one week after it was announced.

“Iron Mike” ended his professional career in 2005 following a loss to Kevin McBride, but returned to the ring in 2020 and fought to a draw with fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition bout.

The co-main event of that card also saw Paul knock out ex-NBA player Nate Robinson in his second pro boxing match, and the 27-year-old recently put up a post celebrating how far his boxing career has come in the four years since then.

“Problem Child” went on to defeat Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice) and Anderson Silva following the Robinson win, and after suffering his first loss against Tommy Fury last year Paul has now put together a three-fight win streak that includes another UFC veteran in Nate Diaz.

The matchup between Paul and Tyson is also notable because it will air exclusively on Netflix, and it will be interesting to see what kind of promotional push the fight gets in the coming months to help justify booking it at a venue as massive as AT&T Stadium.
