Fighters are a different breed.

Jack Della Maddalena fought through a broken arm to earn his TKO win over Gilbert Burns at UFC 299.

An X-Ray of Maddalena's arm was posted to the story of his manager, Tim Simpson, which reveals a completely broken ulna on his left arm.

"[Jack Della Maddalena's] arm snapped clean early in the fight. Rallied for a finish in the third," Simpson wrote in a caption.

Adrenaline would have powered Maddalena through the fight, but to rally and score a third round TKO demonstrates unquestionable grit from the Aussie.

Judging by the fight highlights (courtesy of TNT Sports below), Maddalena's forearm could have been injured when he Dutch-blocked a kick from Burns in the opening frame and planted that same arm when being taken down. Maddalena no-sold the injury superbly during the fight so it remains supposition until he discloses what actually occurred.

Due to the nature of the injury, it's likely the Australian fighter will be shelved for the coming months whilst he recovers.
