Max Holloway has an idea in mind for who should hand off the BMF title next.

The fighting Hawaiian is competing for the most unique championship in the sport today. It all started with Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz at UFC 244, where the two fought for ‘Baddest Motherf*****" bragging rights with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson wrapping the belt around the victorious Masvidal.

Masvidal’s inaugural title was resurrected years later at UFC 291 with Justin Gaethje vs. Dustin Poirier. ‘Gamebred’ put the belt on Gaethje’s shoulder after he knocked out his fellow teammate in brutal fashion.

The BMF title is on the line again at UFC 300 with former featherweight champ Holloway moving up a weight class to take on the defending Gaethje at lightweight.

Ahead of the special occasion, Holloway was asked who should carry the torch from Masvidal and present the BMF title at UFC 300. It was a no-brainer for ‘Blessed’.

“The only correct guy, the only correct answer is Mark Coleman,” Holloway told MMA Junkie. “Especially with when he went to recently with his dog and his dog waking up and his dog waking him up to go save his stuff and he go in there and run for his dog, guy's a G bro. That's a real life BMF.”

Coleman, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, recently saved his parents from a burning house. Coleman was woken up by his dog, ‘Hammer’, who alerted him of the ongoing danger. He then rescued his parents and even went inside to save his pet, but was overcome by smoke inhalation.

Coleman’s dog Hammer did not survive, however it doesn’t go without saying that the retired fighter was a hero and a ‘BMF’ if you will, for putting his life on the line for his family.

The 59 year-old was released from the hospital days afterwards with a case of pneumonia.

“So, I mean, that's the only right answer,” Holloway said of Coleman. “I think they used them in that little [UFC 300] promo video too, right? Facing off with DC [Daniel Cormier] right? And that picture, yeah, they did. So, maybe that's a hint. Maybe it comes, it'd be sick if he did it. It would be an honor to get him to do it.”

That might just end up happening as Mark Coleman and his family has been invited to attend UFC 300 in Las Vegas next weekend.

“I’m so excited today. The Ufc is bringing me in giving me and my daughters tickets to the biggest show ever Ufc 300 in Las Vegas so stoked let’s go the BMF belt that’s the one I’m excited about,” Coleman wrote on his Instagram. “The main event is huge as well. The whole card is sick. See you there. What a great day to be alive be the best version of yourself you can be you never know when you’re gonna need it. Sober is cool carnivore diet, nine ancestral tenants hammer House for life.”

‘The Godfather of Ground and Pound’ was a MMA pioneer and fought 12 times under the UFC banner. Coleman’s resume includes the likes of Randy Couture, Fedor Emelianenko (twice), Dan Severn and many others.
