Brendan Schaub Goes Off On Fans Criticizing Pat Barry For Corner Advice To Rose Namajunas During UFC Paris

Schaub has had enough of the criticism aimed at Pat Barry.

Brendan Schaub is sticking up for Pat Barry amid criticism of his UFC Paris corner advice for Rose Namajunas.

As expected, Barry was in Namajunas' corner for her recent flyweight tilt against Manon Fiorot. Top MMA coach Trevor Wittman was noticeably absent from Namajunas' corner. Some fans were quick to assume that this was Barry's call, but that has not been confirmed.

Fans also gave Barry flak for telling Namajunas that she doesn't need a pinky after she broke her finger during the fight. Namajunas ended up losing the bout to Fiorot via unanimous decision.

During an episode of "The Schaub Show," Brendan Schaub mocked fans who have been throwing dirt on Pat Barry's name over his cornering at UFC Paris.

"They want him to be like, 'Babe, are you okay? Oh my God, should we get out of here?' He's her coach," Schaub said. "'Oh my God, your pinky's broke what are we gonna do? We have dinner tomorrow night in Eiffel Tower. How are you gonna eat croissants?' People are like, 'Pat's an a******, man. Can you believe he forced his girlfriend to fight?'"

Schaub then doubled down, sharing his belief that the detractors look for anything to criticize.

"It's a fight, dude, they're not girlfriend-boyfriend in that fight," Schaub said. "It's coach and fighter. He's like, 'Oh, babe we should get out of here before it gets worse. I know if you win you get a title shot, but let's get out of here.' People look for any reason to hate, especially on Pat and Rose. People are stupid."
