Former UFC Star Willing To Make Huge Bet On Bo Nickal's Future

Massive praise for Nickal.

A former UFC star turned podcast personality has high hopes for Bo Nickal.

Despite having just five pro MMA bouts, Nickal is a highly touted prospect due to his collegiate wrestling background. He hasn't had a pro MMA fight go past the first round thus far.

Nickal made his UFC debut back in March. He submitted Jamie Pickett in the opening frame with an arm-triangle choke. Nickal followed that up with a 38-second TKO win over Val Woodburn at UFC 290.

While Bo Nickal is in the very early stages of his career, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes the UFC already has a new top 10 middleweight on its hands. With that said, the former MMA slugger took to "The Schaub Show" to urge the UFC to take things slow with Nickal.

"I think he's a top 15, I honestly, personally think he's a top 10 guy right now, but again, there's no sense in seeing if he is,' Schaub said. "Even though if I say that or if the UFC brass thinks that, there's no point in pushing him into the top 15 right now. What you would do with a guy like that is not Woodburn, a guy cutting lawns coming off the regional circuit, but you give him more UFC vets, see how he does."

Schaub is so confident in the trajectory of Nickal's career that he's willing to make a sizable bet.

"He's the next face of the UFC," Schaub said. "I would bet a lot of money on that."
