MMA News: Fighter Walked Out on Stretcher After 4-Second KO

Japanese fighter Takaya Suzuki has just scored a spectacular four-second finish very reminiscent of Jorge Masvidal's viral flying knee knockout in 2019.

The fight took place at Professional Shooto on January 27. Suzuki's opponent Yuichi Miyagi came out to tentatively touch gloves before Suzuki launched directly into a flying knee. It landed flush and toppled Miyagi to the canvas as stiff as a board. The referee intervened and the fight was scored a four-second knockout. Miyagi was escorted out on a stretcher.
Suzuki puts his name on the map, improving to an impressive 4-1 record with three wins by first-round knockout. Meanwhile, Miyagi, a seasoned 35-fight veteran, suffers the most emphatic loss of his career. Despite being a resilient flyweight grappler with only two first-round losses in six defeats, Miyagi now faces two defeats in under a minute.
For those interested in watching Shooto, their events are live-streamed on Abema TV. Currently, the UFC possesses one high-profile Shooto athlete in Tatsuro Taira, who was the Shooto Japan Flyweight champion in 2021.
