Sean O'Malley appears primed for a shot at UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling, and he isn't short on confidence.

O'Malley witnessed Sterling successfully retain the UFC 135-pound gold inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. After the "Funk Master" was awarded the split decision win, O'Malley entered the Octagon and had an intense face off with Sterling.

During an appearance on MMAFighting's "The MMA Hour," O'Malley told Ariel Helwani that he won't be giving a final prediction on his expected clash with Sterling just yet.

"I believe I have the skills to get the job done," O'Malley said. "As far as a prediction, I like to be in camp, like deep into camp, deep into sparring rounds. That's where I kind of get those predictions, and when you close your eyes, start seeing how the fight plays out."

With that said, O'Malley doesn't appear to have any doubt that he has what it takes to dethrone the UFC Bantamweight Champion.

"I'm gonna snipe this dude," O'Malley said. "I gotta snipe this dude. He's very funky. He walks forward and throws some weird s**t, some off balanced s**t and I gotta be ready for that, and that's where I'm gonna snipe him. I believe I have the tools to snipe him with his chin when he's walking forward like that. I'm excited to rewatch the fight from the TV point of view and kind of break it down from there, but I believe I can put his lights out. I do."
