WWE News: Shocking Match Ending on WWE TV Reportedly Caught Many Off Guard Backstage

One surprising finish to a recent WWE match got people talking backstage.

It appears the finish to one match on WWE TV threw some people off backstage.

WWE has been soaring in terms of business and storytelling. It's especially true as we get closer to the two-night spectacle that is WrestleMania. While Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown superstars are gearing up for "The Granddaddy of Them All," WWE NXT talent will get to shine at Stand & Deliver, which will be held the same day as night one of WrestleMania 40.

With the biggest season in wrestling this year nearing its peak, expect the unexpected, even from the developmental brand. There was one recent match on an episode of NXT that even had those behind the scenes talking.

On the March 13 episode of WWE NXT, Gigi Dolin was defeated by Arianna Grace via DQ. The stipulation was that if Grace won, she'd give Gigi a makeover. Grace emerging victorious isn't what started some online chatter, it was how WWE creative got to the finish.

With the referee's back turned, Grace kicked Gigi low. Dolin responded by delivering a low blow, but she was caught by the referee and disqualified.

Fightful Select is reporting that many backstage at the show were thrown off by the finish of the match. With that said, Dolin and Grace were praised for their performances during the finish.

Depending on who you ask, the match ending was either hilarious due to the selling of Grace, in particular, or it missed the mark. Regardless, WWE NXT fans appear to be excited to see how Dolin's makeover will turn out.

Also noted in Fightful's report is that there is said to be high morale within the NXT locker room. It's even more good news for WWE, as that seems to be the positive theme with the company's on-air talent these days.
