Dana White Calls for Tyson Fury vs. Jon Jones in UFC: “I Will Make It Happen”

"If Tyson Fury is serious and he wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, let's start talking."

Dana White is ready to book Tyson Fury vs. Jon Jones in the UFC and see who the real "baddest man on the planet" is, provided Fury is serious about backing up his recent comments.

Fury broke his social media hiatus last week when he went off on UFC commentator Joe Rogan for comments about how a fight between himself and Jones would go. Rogan suggested that “Bones” could easily handle Fury if the two were locked in a room together, which apparently infuriated the current WBC heavyweight champion.

The 34-year-old’s response to Rogan immediately prompted some online back-and-forth with Jones, and now UFC President Dana White says he’d love to get the pair into the Octagon together.

“Jon Jones is the baddest dude on the planet," White told BroBible. “There’s no debate, there’s no denying it…If Tyson Fury really wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, I will make it happen.”

“Bones” only debuted in the UFC’s heavyweight division earlier this year at UFC 285, but the former light heavyweight king made short work of Ciryl Gane to capture his second UFC title. Jones’ legacy as perhaps the greatest MMA fighter of all time is already well-established, but no doubt a meeting between himself and Fury would be one of the most-watched events in the history of combat sports.

Public opinion on the likelihood of a fight between Jones and Fury actually happening is understandably skeptical, but White did make a point to cite the success of Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather as an encouraging sign for the chances of “The Gypsy King” stepping into the Octagon.

“Listen, we can talk all we want. Tyson can talk, Jon Jones can talk, I can talk, we can all talk. Let’s do it. If Tyson’s serious and he wants to do it – I got Floyd Mayweather to fight. We paid Floyd and got Floyd the number he wanted. If Tyson Fury is serious and he wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, let’s start talking.”
