UFC 298 Results: Prelim Fighter Scores 3 Knockdowns With Alleged Broken Arm

Danny Barlow overcomes massive adversity in his UFC debut.

Danny Barlow made a successful UFC debut at UFC 298 with a spectacular finish over Josh Quinlan.

After a back-and-forth affair over ten minutes, Barlow appeared to be edging the fight on the scorecards. Quinlan knew this and swung for the bleachers trying to find a knockout, which didn't work in his favor as Barlow timed a crisp left hook which dropped the Hawaaian.

Quinlan managed to hold it together enough to escape the onslaught, but only found himself on the receiving end of two more knockdowns. Veteran referee Jason Herzog allowed "Bushido" many chances before stepping in.

Both of Quinlan's eyes were swelled shut and blood spattered his complexion - which resembled a horror movie.

In his post-fight interview, Barlow alleged that he broke his arm in the first round. "I broke my arm in the first round," Barlow exclaimed. "... I think I broke my left hand too."

Whether his statement is true remains yet to be seen. Some post-fight X-rays will substantiate Barlow's claims. Regardless of the fact, Barlow's UFC debut went as well as it possibly could: a barn-burner fight, overcoming adversity, and a dominant knockout. He's certainly one to watch going forward.
