UFC Fight Night: Prelim Fight Cancelled Just Minutes Before Beginning

Following back-to-back events at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, the world’s leading MMA promotion got back on the road this weekend for a UFC Fight Night card headlined by Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot.

The event started strong with a dominant performance from Caolán Loughran before Jacob Malkoun scored the first finish of his UFC career, but the third bout of the night between Viktoriia Dudakova and Melissa Gatto was unfortunately scrapped just minutes before it was set to take place.

Details regarding Dudakova’s medical issue have not been disclosed as of yet, but the cancellation is another unfortunate development in the Russian’s young UFC career after she won her promotional debut via injury and missed weight for her last bout with Jinh Yu Frey.

The news will undoubtedly be disappointing for Gatto as well, as the 28-year-old was hoping to rebound from back-to-back losses when she entered the UFC Octagon for the fourth time to take on Dudakova.

It remains to be seen whether or not the UFC will try to rebook the flyweight matchup for a future card, but even with the loss of that fight UFC Atlantic City still features a total of 13 bouts and will conclude with the huge flyweight clash between Blanchfield and Fiorot.
