Longtime UFC veteran Jim Miller added to his already record number of wins and set up a probable fight at UFC 300 with his victory at UFC Vegas 84.

One of the primary storylines ahead of UFC 300 has been whether Miller will appear on the milestone card after “A-10” previously competed at both UFC 100 and UFC 200.

The 40-year-old has repeatedly expressed interest in fighting at UFC 300, and some fans were surprised when the lightweight veteran was booked to meet Gabriel Benítez at a UFC Fight Night event just three months out from that card.

Miller didn't get things done as quickly as in his matchup with Jesse Butler, but he did score a late submission against Benítez after he largely controlled the Mexican for the majority of their bout.

The two lightweights had the added spotlight of appearing in the UFC Vegas 84 co-main event after a bout between Manel Kape and Matheus Nicolau was cancelled on weigh-in day, and Miller took advantage of the moment to call for a fight on UFC 300 in his post-fight interview.

The impressive win also added to the 40-year-old’s record number of wins in the UFC, and “A-10” has shown no signs of slowing down considering he now has back-to-back victories and is 5-2 across his last seven appearances.

Miller jokingly suggested he’d love a UFC 300 matchup with Brock Lesnar but also threw out the names of UFC veterans Paul Felder and Matt Brown, both of which seem like they'd be ideal opponents for the UFC record holder on April 13.
