UFC Vegas 83 Results & Highlights: Yadong Outworks Gutierrez

Top bantamweight contenders headlined the year's final UFC Fight Night.

The penultimate UFC card of the year and the promotion’s final Fight Night event of 2023 took place at the UFC Apex facility.

The night’s main event saw top bantamweights Song Yadong and Chris Gutierrez square off to see which fighter would resume their climb up the divisional rankings. Competing in his third-straight UFC main event, Yadong utilized his wrestling to control Gutierrez for the majority of the fight and earn a lopsided unanimous decision.

The co-main event featured an important light heavyweight clash between former title challenger Anthony Smith and Khalil Rountree Jr. Rountree entered the night on an impressive four-fight winning streak, and "The War Horse" added to that run when he brutally stopped Smith in the third round.

The main card also included Tim Elliott taking advantage of a short-notice opportunity to step in and submit Sumudaerji in the first round. André Muniz snapped a two-fight skid when he took a split decision over Jun Yong Park, and Nasrat Haqparast also collected his third-straight win when he knocked out Jamie Mullarkey.
