Iowa's Caitlin Clark Breaks Fanatics NIL Record

After setting all-time scoring record, Clark became Fanatics’ top-selling college athlete in NIL era

Making history seems to be more common these days for Iowa basketball superstar Caitlin Clark than scoring under 30 points. After becoming the NCAA women’s basketball all-time leading scorer on Friday night - breaking Kelsey Plum's previous mark of 3,527 points - Clark set another record off the court.

Clark now holds the title of Fanatics' top-selling college athlete in the NIL era  - since the digital sports platform began making and selling official NIL college athlete apparel in 2022 - passing Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

According to Fanatics, more Clark-branded merchandise was sold in less than 24 hours after she broke the record Friday night than any other individual - men’s or women’s NIL era college athlete across all sports - since 2022.

Moments after breaking the scoring record, Clark's NIL partner Nike posted a static image across their social accounts with the powerful message of “You break it, you own it" and launched jersey t-shirts on Fanatics and Nike.com with the same copy on the front and Clark 22 on the back.

Fanatics Collectibles also released a commemorative, autographed Topps Now trading cards for Clark that celebrated the scoring record, which sold out in under 10 minutes.

Clark previously made trading card history when her 2022 Topps Bowman University Superfractor Rookie set the record for most expensive women’s basketball card ever at a whopping $78,000.

Represented by Excel Sports Management, Clark counts Nike, State Farm, Bose, Gatorade and Topps, among her many NIL partners.

Clark and Iowa next visit No. 14 Indiana on Thursday.
