Quarterbacks Lead College Football Playoff NIL Valuations

All four starters — plus a highly-touted backup — can boost their NIL value during CFP

With the field set for the College Football Playoff, players that rank among the highest in Name, Image and Likeness value could cash in even more in the lead-up to the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl.

No. 1 Michigan will face No. 4 Alabama in the Rose Bowl and No. 2 Washington will face No. 3 Texas in the Sugar Bowl. Both games are set for New Year’s Day.

Per On3.com, the highest-valued player in the College Football Playoff likely won’t take a snap, unless the game is way out of hand - Texas freshman quarterback Arch Manning.

He has taken a few snaps this season, including a knee to seal the Big 12 Championship Game win over Oklahoma State. With an NIL value of $2.8 million, he is the second-highest valued player in college football behind Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, who is valued at $4 million.

Who else is in the CFP and is in the Top 5 in NIL valuation? They’re all quarterbacks.

Second is Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, who lost the starting job at one point this season but led the Crimson Tide to the SEC Championship on Saturday, a win over Georgia that pushed the two-time defending national champions out of the playoff entirely.

Milroe has a valuation of $1.3 million, which is No. 8 among college football players and his value earned a $25,000 jump recently.

Third among players in the CFP is the quarterback ahead of Manning - Texas starter Quinn Ewers - who was just named the most outstanding player of the Big 12 Championship game after throwing for more than 400 yards and four touchdowns.

Ewers’ valuation is $1.3 million, but his value has taken a huge jump recently — $181,000.

Two other players are tie with Ewers at No. 3, which rounds out the Top 5.

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who is No. 10 overall and will lead the No. 1 Wolverines into the CFP for the second straight year. McCarthy has a valuation of $1.3 million and saw a jump his value of late, moving up $68,000.

Rounding out the Top 5 is Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who just a couple of years ago was the quarterback at Indiana but has led the Huskies to a Pac-12 title and a second College Football Playoff berth. His valuation took a $4,100 jump of late.
