UConn Freshman Arnold Signs NIL Deal with Black Fives Foundation
Black Fives Foundation announced on Instagram that they have signed Kamorea Arnold to an education and leadership NIL partnership. Arnold is a member of UConn's women's basketball team.
The foundation's mission, according to its website, is to research preserve, showcase, teach, and honor the pre-NBA history of African Americans who played basketball.
The foundation is based in Greenwich, Connecticut, 40 minutes away from Gampel Pavilion in Storrs.
Arnold was one of the nation's top recruits in high school, ranking sixth in the ESPN Women's 100. The guard was named the 2021 and 2022 Wisconsin Girls High School Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year. Arnold was named to the 2023 McDonald's All-American Team.
The honors she has earned in her young career match some of the best to ever play the game.
She has found early success in the college ranks, averaging 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 52.9% from the field.
Arnold has started 17 of the 23 games she has played in this season. She was named the Big East preseason Freshman of the Year and has a chance to win the award if she can continue to impress.
According to the release, Arnold will support the Black Fives Foundation's mission through events and presentations. She will promote education and leadership by sharing her insight as a student-athlete.
Arnold had the following to say about the partnership.
“I am deeply honored to have this incredible opportunity to collaborate with Black Fives,” said Kamorea. “It’s remarkable how a project I did my freshman year of high school has evolved into such a meaningful partnership.”
