There's not much more stunning than a black stallion—even more so a stallion who was not only a proven winner himself but also went on to sire winners.

Slick By Design, owned by Highpoint Performance Horses, embodies this precisely. He is by the American Quarter Horse Association World Champion stallion Designer Red, out of the producing mare Dreams Of Blue.

Slick is a three-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo with both Women Professional Rodeo Association barrel racers Michele McLeod and Stevi Hillman. Together, Slick and McLeod achieved a remarkable feat at the NFR, running a 13.48, which remains the fastest time a stallion has ever run at the event.

Slick won an astonishing $640,000 in his career, along with multiple other achievements such as AQHA Reserve Horse Of The Year, 11 WPRA Rodeo Championships, AQHA Champion, and Fort Smith Derby Champion.

He left his mark on the barrel industry before hitting the breeding barn. Once he moved to Highpoint Performance Horses' state-of-the-art stallion station, he was not about to let his story stop there. Slick's incredible offspring just hit the $7 million mark. This makes Slick the tenth all-time leading barrel sire, just behind Tres Seis. With over 400 money-earning offspring, Slick has put more than just a few winners on the ground. Slick's top-performing offspring are Slicks Little Amigo ($351,473), Slick Lane Ta Fame ($279,630), and Slick N Black ($273,434).

Owners Jason Martin and Charlie Cole have enrolled Slick into every lucrative incentive available to give his progeny the best chance possible at those large payouts. These include but are not limited to the Pink, Ruby and Riata Buckles, Royal Crown, Diamond Classic, and many more.

This standout stallion is currently standing to the public for a stud fee of $3,100 at Highpoint Performance Horses, where fans can meet and fall in love with him in person.
