The Brooks Hyperion Elite 6 Combines Speed and Endurance

Brooks Running continues its red-hot summer with the new Hyperion Elite 6.

I've been running in the Hyperion Elite 5 since it dropped. Nimble, light, a serious performer on race day. The PEBA-based DNA GOLD foam gave it real bounce, and it earned its spot in the super shoe conversation fast.

But I felt the narrow toe box every time I laced up. It rewards a specific foot shape, and if yours isn't built that way, you feel it by mile eight. The Hyperion Elite 6 is out now, and Brooks widened the midfoot to fix exactly that.

Sharper Propulsion

Brooks steepened the angle of descent on the SpeedVault+ plate and the RapidRoll Rocker geometry, which sounds technical until you feel what it actually does. A steeper descent angle means the front of the shoe drops away faster underfoot, so your forefoot gets locked into that rocker sooner instead of waiting for your foot to roll all the way through the stride.

The shoe starts pushing you forward before you'd expect it to. It's less about a bigger pop off the ground and more about shaving down the time your foot spends deciding what to do next.

Softer Cushion

The foam underneath got an upgrade too, a nitrogen-infused version of DNA GOLD that's softer and springier than what I've felt in the 5, built to hold that response mile after mile instead of flattening out late in a marathon. Paired with the wider midfoot, it's a shoe that should work for a lot more runners without losing the snap that made the 5 stand out.

The upper follows the same idea. Silicone lace yarns and a pressed TPU build hug the foot without extra material sitting on top of it. Wherever the foot actually needs support or airflow, that's where Brooks puts it, and nowhere else. Fewer layers, less weight, and none of it feels bolted on.

Athlete-Tested and Approved

Brooks developed and tested the Hyperion Elite 6 with its own roster of elite athletes, including mile world record holder Josh Kerr. This shoe is built for the start line of major marathons, for runners who take race day seriously.

Brooks built its name on trust with everyday runners through the Ghost line and the Glycerin line. The Hyperion Elite 6 shows that same credibility now applied to the elite tier.
