8-man Arkansas high school football report (Week 7)

About a month remains in the regular season for sanctioned teams, while the club division will wrap up games in the next two weeks as they make their final push for playoff spots. There was a thrilling finish in a No. 1-vs.-No. 2 matchup in the sanctioned division last week, and another Top 2 contest is on the horizon in the club ranks for Friday night, along with much more on the slate for Week 7.

TOP PERFORMERS
Jaron Adams, Fountain Lake
The sophomore led the Cobras with 18 total tackles (12 solo) and forced a fumble in Fountain Lake’s 41-34 win over Subiaco Academy.
Nick Brey, Fountain Lake
The senior compiled 15 total tackles (1 for loss) and forced a fumble in Fountain Lake’s 41-34 win over Subiaco Academy.
Juan Diggs, Fountain Lake
The senior had another monster performance with 229 all-purpose yards (127 rushing, 130 receiving, 22 kickoff return) with 4 total touchdowns in Fountain Lake’s 41-34 win over Subiaco Academy. Diggs also had 14 total tackles (1 for loss), a pass deflection, and an interception on defense.
Keelan Dobbins, Mountain Pine
The senior compiled 245 all-purpose yards and 6 total touchdowns (3 rushing, 2 receiving, 1 kickoff return) in Mountain Pine’s 40-32 win over Spring Hill. Dobbins also had eight tackles (one for loss) defensively.
Anthony Gehrig, Subiaco Academy
The junior compiled 229 all-purpose yards (116 rushing, 113 kickoff return) and a touchdown in Subiaco Academy’s 41-34 loss to Fountain Lake. He also had four total tackles (one for loss) and an interception defensively.
James Glasco, Mountain Pine
The senior compiled 16 total tackles (3 for loss) in Mountain Pine’s 40-32 win over Spring Hill.
Landon Goins, Mountain View
The senior compiled 20 total tackles (14 solo), forced a fumble, and recorded a sack in Mountain View’s 72-32 win over Cutter-Morning Star.
Aiden Jones, Cedar Ridge
The sophomore rushed 22 times for 223 yards in Cedar Ridge’s 40-22 win over Marshall. Jones was also 3-of-5 passing for 45 yards.
Brody Koch, Subiaco Academy
The junior compiled 143 yards of total offense, 101 on the ground, and two scores in Subiaco Academy’s 41-34 loss to Fountain Lake. Defensively, Koch led the Trojans with 12 total tackles (2 for loss) and an interception that he returned for 34 yards.
Stryker Mathis, Cedar Ridge
The senior compiled nine total tackles (5 for loss) in Cedar Ridge’s 40-22 win over Marshall.
Dayjon Matlock, Mountain Pine
The senior compiled 13 total tackles (1 for loss) and recovered a fumble in Mountain Pine’s 40-32 win over Spring Hill.
Kaiden McHenry, Strong
The sophomore rushed for 141 yards and had 3 total offensive touchdowns in Strong’s 26-14 win over Marvell-Elaine. McHenry also had a 91-yard fumble return for a touchdown on defense.
Jace McNeil, Cedar Ridge
The sophomore rushed 23 times for 119 yards and converted all five two-point conversions in Cedar Ridge’s 40-22 win over Marshall.
Peyton Mills, Cutter-Morning Star
The sophomore completed 23-of-36 passes for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns in Cutter-Morning Star’s 72-32 loss to Mountain View.
Levi Rorie, Mountain View
The junior rushed 17 times for 142 yards and a touchdown in Mountain View’s 72-32 win over Cutter-Morning Star.
Drew Shelton, Mountain View
The junior rushed 12 times for 117 yards and 4 touchdowns in Mountain View’s 72-32 win over Cutter-Morning Star.
Trampas Stubbs, Mountain View
The senior rushed 8 times for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns in Mountain View’s 72-32 win over Cutter-Morning Star. Stubbs also collected eight total tackles, intercepted a pass, and forced a fumble on defense.
TJ Tipton, Spring Hill
The junior rushed 26 times for 206 yds and 2 touchdowns, along with 5 tackles defensively, in Spring Hill’s 40-32 loss to Mountain Pine.
Fisher Hale, Woodlawn
The senior ran 8 times for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns in Woodlawn's 57-0 win over Hermitage.
Caleb Martin, Woodlawn
The senior ran 8 times for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns in Woodlawn's 57-0 win over Hermitage.
SCORES AND RANKINGS
8-Man Sanctioned Rankings
No. 1 Mountain Pine (6-0)
As expected coming in, the Red Devils faced their stiffest competition since Week 1 but were able to win the scoring battle 40-32 in a No.1-vs.-No. 2 matchup over Spring Hill.
No. 2 Woodlawn (5-0)
Following a 57-0 victory over Hermitage, the Bears remain undefeated and have outscored their past two opponents 107-20.
No. 3 Brinkley (4-1)
The Tigers were off due to postponement.
No. 4 Spring Hill (6-1)
The Bears led No. 1 Mountain Pine throughout the first half, but could not muster enough offense to stay with the Red Devils in the second half falling 40-32.
No. 5 Izard County (3-2)
The Cougars were off.
8-Man Club Rankings
No. 1 Mountain View (6-0)
The Yellowjackets may have given up the most points they have all season, but they also put up the most in a decisive 72-32 victory over Cutter-Morning Star. The Yellowjackets totaled just shy of 600 yards.
No. 2 Fountain Lake (5-1)
Riding almost 500 yards of total offense, the Cobras overcame a handful of turnovers to get past Subiaco Academy 41-34.
No. 3 Subiaco Academy (3-3)
The Trojans battled in a dogfight with Fountain Lake and forced five turnovers, but also committed eight penalties that would eventually be one of the deciding factors in their 41-34 loss.
No. 4 Genoa Central (4-2)
Coming off back-to-back losses, the Dragons had something to prove and they did that crushing Rose Bud 56-6. The defense has been stellar in most games this year, and they were yet again forcing five turnovers.
No. 5 Cedar Ridge (3-3)
The Timberwolves kept their playoff hopes alive as they defeated Marshall 40-22 led by a strong rushing attack that put up around 400 yards.
