Hot Springs Lakeside promotes assistant Garren Rockwell to head football coach

Rockwell takes over after serving as a Rams assistant since 2014

In a release via Facebook, Hot Springs Lakeside announced Thursday evening that the school district approved Garren Rockwell as the program’s next head football coach.

Rockwell has been on the Rams’ staff since 2014 and served as defensive coordinator since 2016. He takes over for Jared McBride, who resigned in December after 13 seasons and compiled a record of 78-62, winning four 5A-South conference championships.

The Rams are coming off a 2-7 season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
