Arkansas 8-man high school football report (10/25/2023)
Playoff time has arrived in the club division, while just two weeks remain in the regular season for sanctioned teams.

TOP PERFORMERS
Cash Arnhart, Izard County Consolidated
Arnhart caught five passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns in ICC's 64-16 win over Augusta. Arnhart also logged 10 total tackles, including two for loss.
Kaden Avery, Rector
Avery rushed nine times for 108 yards in Rector's 44-6 win over Midland.
Garrett Buchanan, Izard County Consolidated
Buchanan compiled 14 total tackles, one for loss, in ICC's 64-16 win over Augusta.
Wyatt Buchanan, Izard County Consolidated
The junior completed 11-of-18 passes for 320 yards and six touchdowns in ICC's 64-16 win over Augusta.
Caleb Cowell, Subiaco Academy
The senior logged nine total stops, including two sacks, in Subiaco's 52-22 win over Genoa Central.
Danquez Crayton, Strong
The sophomore logged five tackles in Strong's 18-14 win over Spring Hill, as well as returned a fumble 48 yards for a score.
Adonis Delaney, Mountain Pine
The senior rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown in Mountain Pine's 26-22 win over Woodlawn. Delaney also collected five total tackles, one for loss, and nipped an interception.
Jonas Elms, Cedar Ridge
Elms hauled in 11 catches for 120 yards in Cedar Ridge's 57-18 loss to Mountain View.
Anthony Gehrig, Subiaco Academy
The senior logged five tackles and nipped an interception in Subiaco's 52-22 win over Genoa Central, as well as hauled in a 37-yard touchdown and averaged 58 yards per kickoff.
Drew Henderson, Rector
The senior rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries, as well as completed three of his four passes for 48 yards in Rector's 44-6 win over Midland. Henderson also surpassed the school record for rushing yards in a season with 1,507.
Aiden Jones, Cedar Ridge
The junior rushed for 90 yards and scored all of the Timberwolves' touchdowns in Cedar Ridge's 57-18 loss to Mountain View.
Brody Koch, Subiaco Academy
The senior compiled 323 yards of offense (37 passing, 169 rushing, 117 receiving) and scored seven total touchdowns in Subiaco's 52-22 win over Genoa Central. Koch also collected nine total stops, recovered a fumble and nipped an interception.
Landon Koch, Subiaco Academy
The sophomore led the Trojans with 10 total tackles, including one for loss, and also forced a fumble in Subiaco's 52-22 win over Genoa Central.
Isaiah Mahone, Cutter-Morning Star
Mahone finished with 134 receiving yards and three touchdowns on as many receptions in Cutter's 64-32 win over Fountain Lake. Mahone also logged 11 total tackles.
Xander McCandlis, Izard County Consolidated
The junior logged 15 total tackles, including two for loss, recovered a fumble and nipped two interceptions, one returned 54 yards for a touchdown, in ICC's 64-16 win over Augusta.
Germyren McHenry, Strong
The junior rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown in Strong's 18-14 win over Spring Hill.
Kaiden McHenry, Strong
The junior compiled 120 yards of offense and returned a punt 72 yards for a touchdown in Strong's 18-14 win over Spring Hill.
Peyton Mills, Cutter-Morning Star
The junior completed 13-of-16 passes for 284 yards and five touchdowns, along with adding 60 yards on the ground, in Cutter's 64-32 win over Fountain Lake.
Jamerion Mitchell, Strong
The junior led the Bulldogs with 10 total tackles and forced a fumble in Strong's 18-14 win over Spring Hill.
Jacob Mooneyhan, Rector
The senior led the Cougars with 11 total tackles in Rector's 44-6 win over Midland.
Chris Munroe, Subiaco Academy
The sophomore completed 10-of-17 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns in Subiaco's 52-22 win over Genoa Central. Munroe also logged three tackles and intercepted a pass on defense.
Jack Newton, Mountain View
Newton scored touchdowns on both of his receptions, as well as logged six tackles and nipped two interceptions on defense, in Mountain View's 57-18 win over Cedar Ridge.
Brayden Reedy, Rose Bud
The senior hauled in 13 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns in Rose Bud's 40-38 win over Marshall. Reedy also logged two tackles and nipped an interception on defense.
Antonio Rookard, Mountain Pine
The sophomore led the Red Devils with seven total tackles, including three sacks, in Mountain Pine's 26-22 win over Woodlawn.
Michael Sexson, Cutter-Morning Star
The junior compiled 153 yards of offense (74 rushing, 79 passing) and three total touchdowns in Cutter's 64-32 win over Fountain Lake.
Drew Shelton, Mountain View
The senior completed 5-of-6 passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns in Mountain View's 57-18 win over Cedar Ridge.
Jock Simpson, Cutter-Morning Star
The senior led the Eagles with 15 total tackles, including a sack, and returned an interception 65 yards for a score in Cutter's 64-32 win over Fountain Lake. Simpson also rushed for a 55-yard touchdown.
Gabe Spray, Izard County Consolidated
Spray hauled in three catches, two for touchdowns, for 69 yards in ICC's 64-16 win over Augusta.
Rush Sullivan, Mountain View
Sullivan led the 'Jackets with 10 total tackles in Mountain View's 57-18 win over Cedar Ridge.
Bryce Walls, Rose Bud
The senior compiled 394 yards of offense (288 passing, 106 rushing) and five total touchdowns in Rose Bud's 40-38 win over Marshall. Walls also logged two tackles on defense.
Jakiem Woods, Strong
The junior logged nine total tackles and forced a fumble in Strong's 18-14 win over Spring Hill.
Zyon Wyatt, Mountain Pine
The junior rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns in Mountain Pine's 26-22 win over Woodlawn. Wyatt also logged four tackles, including one for loss, and forced a fumble.
SCORES AND RANKINGS
Sanctioned Division Rankings
1. Rector (7-0)
The Cougars closed out an undefeated regular season with a 44-6 win over Midland. They have two weeks to rest up before starting their quest to get back to War Memorial Stadium for another shot at winning the state championship.
2. Strong (7-0)
Another impressive defensive performance powered the Bulldogs to a four-point victory over Spring Hill. A home game against No. 4 Mountain Pine is all that stands between Strong and a second undefeated regular season in the past three years.
3. Izard County Consolidated (5-3)
The defending state champions won back-to-back games for the first time this season when they took down Augusta last week and have outscored their previous two opponents 122-30 as they look to close out the regular season at home against No. 5 Brinkley for the 8-Man Game of the Week on Friday.
4. Mountain Pine (5-2)
The Red Devils bounced back from a close loss to Genoa Central by winning an even tighter one over Woodlawn. They have won four of their past five contests and travel to No. 2 Strong on Friday.
5. Brinkley (4-3)
The Tigers were on a bye. They travel to No. 3 Izard County Consolidated for the 8-Man Game of the Week on Friday to finish up regular season play.
