Lynden Christian graduate Daulton Hommes opted for NBA development contract over likely 'more money overseas'

Lynden Christian grad Daulton Hommes recently signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the San Antonio Spurs, ensuring at least a spot on the organization's developmental league team after the end of training camp.
Staying within arms reach of NBA teams was important to Hommes.
"I probably could have made more money overseas, but I definitely think this was the best move for me to stay in front of these teams," Hommes said. "If I went overseas, obviously I could be out of sight, out of mind for a lot of teams."
Hommes, a 6-foot-8 shooter who was the Division II player of the year, managed to get on NBA teams' radars last summer while working out with Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward. He kept the momentum going this summer by playing for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Summer League.
He spoke with Scorebook Live Washington recently about his summer, his contract with the Spurs and what he hopes to accomplish with this next step in his career.
