Carmelo Anthony’s playing days are behind him, but you can still find him in the gym.

The future Hall of Famer was courtside to watch his son, four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, and Team Melo 16u at their Nike EYBL games in Texas this weekend. Carmelo hyped up his son, who’s stood out recently in Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League with his scoring ability.

Kiyan averaged 17.7 points per game during the previous EYBL session in Arizona. It looks like Kiyan stayed hot this weekend in Dallas, and Carmelo loved every bit of it.

Anthony is a top-75 prospect nationally in the class of 2025. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is the No. 2 rising junior in New York, per the On3 consensus rankings.

Anthony began the 2022-23 season with Christ the King before making the in-state move to national powerhouse Long Island Lutheran, although he was unable to play for the Crusaders as a sophomore due to the timing of his transfer.

In the past month, Anthony has added college offers from Illinois, Tennessee, Providence and Indiana. Mike Woodson, who coached Carmelo with the New York Knicks, is now the head coach for Indiana, giving the Hoosiers a possible edge in Kiyan’s recruitment.

Kiyan also holds an offer from Syracuse, where Carmelo won a national championship in 2003.
