Here are Scorebook Live’s Top 25 Southern California high school boys basketball rankings. Our rankings encompass the Southern Section, LA City Section and San Diego Section. The rankings are compiled by Scorebook Live California reporters Connor Morrissette, Bodie DeSilva and Lance Smith and will be released weekly during the regular season.
1. Sierra Canyon (3-0)
The Trailblazers opened their season in San Diego and went 3-0 beating Montgomery, St. Augustine and Cathedral Catholic.
2. Mater Dei (0-0)
The Monarchs start their season Saturday against San Marcos.
3. Rancho Christian (1-0)
The Eagles started their season with an 83-77 win over no. 22 Pacifica Christian.
4. Etiwanda (5-0)
The Eagles have yet to be challenged.
5. Windward (3-0)
Windward has dominated its opening three games over Renaissance Academy, Washington Prep and Burbank.
6. St. John Bosco (2-0)
The Braves have coasted to wins over Burbank and Santa Barbara.
7. Fairfax (0-0)
The Lions start their season Saturday against Colony.
8. Mayfair (0-0)
The Monsoons begin their season on Friday.
9. St. Augustine (2-1)
The Saints are 2-1 with wins over Helix and Montgomery and a loss to no. 1 Sierra Canyon.
10. Cathedral Catholic (0-1)
The Dons lost to no. 1 Sierra Canyon 59-46.
11. Centennial (1-0)
The Huskies beat up JSerra in their opener 80-67
12. Heritage Christian (3-0)
The Warriors have rolled to three consecutive wins.
13. Harvard-Westlake (2-0)
The Wolverines are 3-0 with wins over Van Nuys, Renaissance Academy and Washington Prep.
14. Ribet Academy (1-0)
Ribet beat Alemany 70-60.
15. Birmingham (1-0)
The Patriots beat Palisades 58-48.
16. Foothills Christian (0-0)
Foothills Christian starts its season Monday.
17. Pacifica Christian (1-1)
Pacifica Christian has a win over Santa Margarita and a loss to no. 3 Rancho Christian.
18. Riverside Poly (0-0)
Riverside Poly starts its season in December.
19. St. Anthony (4-0)
St. Anthony won the Pac Shores Tournament at Redondo Union last week beating Bishop Montgomery 48-45 in the championship.
20. Bishop Montgomery (3-1)
The Knights are 3-1 after losing to St. Anthony.
21. Sonora (5-0)
Sonora beat Damien 77-74 last week to cap off an impressive start to the season.
22. Damien (4-1)
The Spartans fell to Sonora but picked up a win over Serra last week.
23. JSerra (1-1)
The Lions fell to no. 11 Centennial 80-67 last week.
24. Torrey Pines (2-0)
The Falcons are 2-0 following two blowout wins.
25. Long Beach Poly (0-0)
The Jackrabbits start their season in December.
