Watch: Etiwanda erases 15-point deficit against Sierra Canyon to win Southern Section championship

ETIWANDA– E-High cemented an undefeated run through the CIF Southern Section Open Division championship on Saturday – the first in school history – defeating Sierra Canyon 69-57 at home in a game of the year candidate.
Sa'lah Hemingway and Kennedy Smith led the way for Etiwanda with 23 points and 19 points, respectively, as the Eagles fought back from a 12-point deficit at halftime that had previously been up to 15 points. 15 of Smith's points came in the second half.
Juju Watkins led all scorers with 24 points for Sierra Canyon, with 20 of them coming in a scintillating first-half torrent. However, the 5-star G/F cooled off in the second half and fouled out with over three minutes left in the final quarter. Etiwanda took the lead with just over two minutes left in the game and went on to win by double-digits.
