Look: Rodrick Pleasant wins 100-meter dash in 10.30 at CIF State Track & Field Championships

CLOVIS - One of the fastest athletes in the country put on a show again on Saturday.
High school football and track star Rodrick Pleasant won two gold medals at the 2022 CIF State Track and Field Championships, winning both the 100 and 200-meter sprints.
And neither race was close.
Pleasant won the 100-meter dash in a wind-aided time of 10.30, ahead of Jordan (Long Beach) sophomore Jordan Washington (10.437) and Servite senior Max Thomas (10.440).
Pleasant's second gold came in the 200 where he won with a wind-aided time of 20.56, ahead of Clovis North junior Nickolas Miller (21.18) and Central (Fresno) senior Cameron Tarver (21.28).
Pleasant, a junior from Gardena Serra in the Southern Section, broke the California state record in the 100-meter dash last week with a wind-legal time of 10.14 at the Southern Section Masters Meet. It was the third-fastest wind-legal time in the country this season, behind Allen (Texas) senior Tsegaya Fazarro (10.10) and Carolina Forest (South Carolina) senior T'Mars McCallum Jr. (10.13).
With both Fazarro and McCallum Jr. graduating, Pleasant will hold the title of the fastest athlete in high school sports heading into his senior season.
