COSTA MESA, Calif. – In a matchup that never fails to deliver, Orange Lutheran outlasted Santa Margarita 28-26 on Friday to open Trinity League play.
After a Santa Margarita touchdown with 17 seconds left in the game, the Lancers held off SM's 2-point conversion attempt to win the game.
TJ Lateef threw a touchdown pass to TE AJ Ia and ran for a score for OLu. Rex Barrera rushed for a pair of touchdowns. Defensively, Jireh Moe blocked two PATs and helped lead a strong effort at the line of scrimmage. Keon Washington grabbed a pick as well.
For Santa Margarita, QB Jaxon Potter and WR Emmett Mosley connected for 3 touchdowns and a 2-point conversion. Blake Wilson recorded an interception, and Taurian Nash ran for a touchdown.
