It didn't take Naki Tuakoi to decide.

As first reported by Brandon Huffman of 247Sports, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end and fullback made an official trip to Stanford on Friday and two days later he made an official announcement he'll play for the Cardinal.

He made his announcement on Instagram.

The humble Fremont of Oakland incoming senior said the "amazing opportunities both on and off the field," was too good to pass up.

He thanked God, his immediate family, coaches and his OPIN (Oakland Pacific Islander Network) family for helping to be in position to make such an ideal choice.

Tuako is the No. 29 recruit in California for the Class of 2024 and No. 18 edge rusher nationally, according to 247Sports. He's also the No. 1 recruit in the San Francisco Bay Area.

He had 17 other college offers, including Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee and all of the Pac-12 schools.

Fremont was 5-6 last season and Tuakoi was an easy All-Oakland Athletic League first-team choice.

"I hope I can be an inspiration," Tuakoi wrote. "A lot of players in OPIn, they complement me but they all put in the same amount of time and work to be the best so we're always looking for the results."
