Harvard-Westlake’s David Rebibo talks NIL, transfers, state title on CIF Southern Section Sitdown

David Rebibo has won City and Southern Section titles as a boys basketball coach

Harvard-Westlake boys basketball coach David Rebibo is fresh off a CIF State Open Division championship in March of 2023.

Rebibo was a guest for Episode 5 on the CIF Southern Section Sitdown and spoke on topics surrounding NIL (name, image, likeness), transfers and his program’s journey to the state title.

In regard to the rampant transfers in the Southern Section, Rebibo had his thoughts.

“There are a variety of reasons (for transfer),” Rebibo said. “But there’s a harsh reality of the microwave culture of sports. … in a lot of situations, you think the grass is greener and it’s not.”
