Mater Dei defeated Archbishop Mitty in four games on Saturday night to win the CIF State Open Division girls volleyball championships at Santiago Canyon College in Orange.

Mater Dei won by scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Mater Dei, which is No. 2 in the Power 25 national rankings, closed out the season by winning 24 consecutive matches to finish 43-2 overall.

Cymarrah Gordon led Mater Dei with 17 kills.
