Most of the Clovis North football players have been playing together since grade school.

That cohesion and brotherhood largely explains their 13-0 record and Friday's 24-14 comeback win over Central-Fresno for the Central Section Division 1 championship at Veteran's Memorial Stadium on the campus of Buchanan High School.

They simply didn't want their season, or time playing together, to end.

The Broncos fought back from a 14-7 halftime deficit to outscore a red-hot Grizzlies' squad 17-0 in the second half to secure the program's third section crown and first since 2012.

Mckay Madsen rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns and Darius Storey delivered one of three turnovers, the key one with an interception inside the Clovis North 10-yard-line in the fourth quarter.

(See postgame interviews with Madsen and Storey at the top of the page and game story below).
