Look: St. Augustine two-way standout Isaiah Hasten discusses San Diego Section championship win over Mission Hills

Hasten had two interceptions and a 56-yard reception in Friday's win

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – St. Augustine senior Isaiah Hasten played a large role on both sides of the ball on Friday night as the Saints beat Mission Hills 13-0 for the San Diego Section Division 1 championship.

Hasten, a wide receiver and cornerback, who also returns punts, gave the offense a kickstart with a 56-yard catch-and-run early in the second quarter. He was tackled at the one-yard line, setting up the first of two touchdowns for freshman Honor Fa'alave Johnson.

On the ensuing possession, Hasten was able to make a sliding interception to give the Saints possession near midfield. Holding on to a 7-0 lead midway through the third quarter, Hasten was able to intercept an overthrown pass, collecting his seventh interception of the year. The Saints would then add their second touchdown of the night and sealed the title, shutting out Mission Hills for the first time in 141 games.
